Bright Futures Start with Strong Education

My family is full of educators, and I’ve seen firsthand how vital our schools and educators are to Georgia’s future. Our state dedicates over 40% of its budget to K–12 education, yet we too often lose sight of the true mission of public schools. Every Georgia student should graduate high school either enrolled, employed, or enlisted—no excuses.

It’s time to make education reform a priority and ensure our system delivers on its promise: providing the most effective education in the nation. We’re proud to be the #1 state for business, now let’s work just as hard to become the #1 state for education.

As your state representative, I will lead in efforts to:

  • Increase childhood literacy. Nearly two-thirds of Georgia’s third graders can’t read at grade level. This must get higher. We can do this by investing more resources in identifying students with learning disorders earlier so we don't have children falling through the cracks.

  • Equip current teachers with proven methods and consistent support. Ensure our schools stay focused on learning, not woke agendas.

  • Hold the Georgia DOE accountable. Make sure funding is going to teachers and classrooms, not bureaucratic overhead.

  • Invest in our future teachers. Enhance curriculum at our state universities, especially on math and reading preparedness.

  • Make Trades Great Again. Expand and promote career-ready curriculum statewide until every high school offers a CTAE pathway.

“It’s 100% a link,” said Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith. “If you don’t have literacy and you don’t have an education, you are walking down a path of recidivism [and] criminal activity.”

Investing in Roads that Move Georgia

As your state representative, I will lead to:

  • Prioritize strategic road and infrastructure investments across Northeast Georgia, ensuring our dollars go where they make the most impact. We need more accountability on new expenditures, including TSPLOT dollars.

  • Partner with Georgia’s world-class engineering schools to develop technologies that complete construction projects safer, quicker, and more efficiently.

  • Strengthen the ports and airports that serve as vital lifelines for commerce, jobs, and Georgia’s global competitiveness.

  • Focus on real, transparent investments—not government gimmicks that waste taxpayer dollars or delay needed improvements.

  • Improve safety statewide by requiring all new drivers to demonstrate a basic understanding of road signs and driving terminology in English before receiving a license.

As a small business owner who drives the roads of Northeast Georgia every day, I know firsthand how essential safe, reliable transportation is to our communities and our economy. With over a dozen major GDOT projects already underway in our district, it’s clear that infrastructure isn’t just about pavement—it’s about people. Every Georgian depends on roads that work, from farmers and truckers to parents and workers. We must make smart, strategic investments that strengthen our infrastructure, improve safety, and support Georgia’s economy.

Safe Communities Start with Supporting Law Enforcement

Our communities are strongest when the men and women who protect us have the resources, respect, and support they deserve. I’m honored to be endorsed by all three of our Republican sheriffs—including longtime Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum—because they know I will always stand with law enforcement and fight to keep Georgia families safe.

Every family deserves to feel secure in their own home and in their own community. As Georgia continues to grow, we must ensure our laws, our systems, and our investments keep pace. Public safety is not negotiable—it’s the foundation of our quality of life and the driver of our economic success.

As your state representative, I will lead to:

  • Equip our officers with the tools, training, and staffing they need to do their jobs safely and empower local agencies to make decisions that best serve their communities.

  • Crack down on fentanyl and opioid trafficking, which is devastating families across Georgia and fueling violent crime.

  • Oppose any and all defunding efforts that weaken law enforcement or jeopardize public safety.

  • Support legislation that allows law enforcement to protect girls and women in public bathrooms, ensuring safety, privacy, and common sense.

  • Create targeted grants for local law enforcement, helping departments keep pace with the challenges of rapid population growth and changing community needs.

  • Prioritize tax reforms aimed at reducing the overall tax burden and creating a more competitive environment for businesses statewide.

  • Supporting conditions that encourage entrepreneurship, ensuring that small businesses and not hindered by unnecessary penalties or barriers.

  • Promoting community-level investment in local employers, helping strengthen local economies and maintain jobs close to home.

  • Developing a “Homegrown Workforce” initiative, enhancing tax incentives for businesses that hire local students through their Work Based Learning programs and bring them on full-time after graduation.

  • Expanding global market access by strengthening efforts to promote Georgia Grown and Georgia-made products in international markets.

Business Climate

As a small business owner, I see the impacts of good and bad decisions that Atlanta lawmakers make every day. I want to help create a stable, sustainable business climate that supports growth and innovation.
